About Nhume

Nhume is designed to help diaspora communities find spare luggage space on journeys that are already happening.

Why we are building it

Sending useful items to family and friends can be expensive and difficult. At the same time, many travellers have unused checked-luggage allowance. Nhume gives those people a structured way to find one another and discuss an arrangement.

What Nhume does

We provide a place to publish journeys, search routes and exchange the information needed to make a decision. We encourage clear descriptions, inspection at handover and careful checks of airline and customs rules.

What Nhume does not do

Nhume does not carry luggage, inspect items, act as a customs broker, provide insurance or process payment. The sender and traveller make their own agreement and remain responsible for following the law.

Our approach

We aim to make each step understandable, accessible and honest about risk. As the service develops, we will publish clear updates to our policies and explain any changes that affect members.
