Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about arranging a peer-to-peer luggage delivery.
What does Nhume do?
Nhume introduces senders to travellers who say they have spare checked-luggage space. The two people decide whether to make an arrangement.
Does Nhume carry or deliver luggage?
No. The traveller carries an agreed item as part of their own journey. Nhume is not a carrier, courier or freight service.
How does payment work?
The sender and traveller agree the price and payment method directly. Payment happens outside Nhume. Nhume does not hold money or guarantee payment.
Can I hand over a sealed parcel?
No. The traveller must be able to open and inspect every item before accepting it. If the contents differ from the description, the traveller should refuse it.
Who checks airline and customs rules?
Both people should check the relevant airline, airport, transit-country, export and import rules. The traveller remains responsible for what they carry.
What if a journey changes or is cancelled?
Contact the other person promptly and agree what happens next. Do not move the item to a different traveller or route without the sender’s clear agreement.
Does Nhume insure items?
No. Unless a separate provider explicitly confirms cover, you should not assume that an item or arrangement is insured.
How do I report a concern?
Use the Nhume contact page for service concerns. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services first. Use the contact page.
