Safety and prohibited items

Do not carry an item unless you know exactly what it is and have checked that it is permitted throughout the journey.

Items that must not be arranged through Nhume

• cash, bank cards, passports or identity documents
• medicines, controlled drugs or unknown substances
• weapons, ammunition, fireworks or explosives
• loose batteries, power banks or damaged electronics
• alcohol, tobacco, fresh food, plants or animal products
• counterfeit, stolen or inaccurately declared goods
• anything sealed, hidden or not fully described

Checks both people should make

• the airline's baggage and dangerous-goods rules
• rules in every transit country
• export requirements at departure
• customs, tax and import rules at the destination
• whether the item must be declared

Airline acceptance does not prove that an item is lawful to export, transit or import. If you are uncertain, do not proceed.

Meet safely

• meet during daylight in a public, staffed place
• tell someone where you are going
• do not share passport or banking details
• leave if you feel pressured or unsafe
• report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities and to Nhume
