Earn from spare luggage space on a flight

If you are already taking a confirmed international journey, Nhume lets you list the checked-luggage kilograms you will not use and set your own price per kilogram.

You remain responsible for everything you carry

Do not accept a sealed or unknown item. Open and inspect every item, make sure it matches the request and check all airline, airport, transit, customs and destination rules.

How listing your spare baggage allowance works

  1. Use a journey you have already booked and confirm your airline’s baggage allowance.
  2. Post the journey with your cities, departure date, airline, available kilograms, maximum dimensions and price per kilogram.
  3. Review requests and ask questions before deciding. You do not have to accept.
  4. If you accept, exchange contact details and agree the inspection, handover and payment directly.
  5. Inspect the items at handover and refuse anything that differs from the request.

How should I choose a price per kilogram?

Nhume does not set a rate. Choose a price you are comfortable showing publicly and make sure the sender understands how the total will be calculated. Confirm the accepted weight and final total before meeting. Do not buy extra baggage or make promises until you have checked your ticket and airline rules.

What information should I put in the journey?

  • Your real departure and destination cities.
  • The confirmed flight date and airline.
  • Only the kilograms you genuinely expect to have free.
  • The maximum item dimensions you can accept.
  • Your price per kilogram and preferred currency.
  • Clear notes about the types of requests you will not consider.

How do I review a sender’s request safely?

Read the exact contents, weight, dimensions and value before responding. Ask for clarification where anything is vague. At handover, open every package, compare it with the request and refuse substitutions. Keep your luggage with you after accepting the item.

Frequently asked questions

Can I earn money from spare luggage space?

On Nhume, a traveller who is already taking a confirmed flight can list unused checked-luggage capacity and choose a price per kilogram. Earnings are not guaranteed because a sender must find the journey and the traveller must accept the request.

Does Nhume tell me what price to charge?

No. The traveller chooses the price per kilogram shown on their listing. Before accepting, both people should agree the accepted weight, total payment, payment method and what happens if the journey changes.

Do I have to accept every request?

No. A traveller can refuse any request and should do so whenever the contents, sender, timing or arrangements cause concern.

Who is responsible for the items at the airport?

The traveller remains responsible for everything in their luggage. Inspect every item and check the airline, departure, transit, customs and destination rules before accepting it.
